Linguistic therapists
Many Japanese adults think they do not speak English as much as they should. This self criticism is an unfortunate result of some lengthy study, which is six years for people who have finished high school education and eight years for people have graduated from universities. The self-loath is actually very strong that many Japanese adults are sick, being caught in the self-locthing and the loss of hope to improve their skills. When learners are sick, they will not be open to teachers. Teachers, on the other hand, should understand this low spirit and approach students as if they are patients. This is when the idea of English teachers as linguistic therapists.
