Eye Contact 2

If your classes are in Tokyo, you use the train to go to your classes. Cars are a nuisance in the super crowded city, and it has advanced train networks.

Let's say you are waiting for a train at a train station. Your train comes and you wait for the passengers to come out to the train station platform. You see a non-Japanese person in the passengers, and give a quick nod. If the person nods back to you, you know the person is new to Japan. If the person ignores you, you know the person has been in Japan for a long time.    - Nicky Sekino
